Incredible one of kind 1930's/1940s Chanel Adaptation* dress! Done in the softest black silk velvet with a mottled stripes of navy, red, bottle green and gold. This has a 30's silhouette with large pointed collar, puffed, smocked shoulders and long sleeves with snaps. Bodice is gathers and full and the waistband is wide with pointed seaming. The long attached belt panel ties in back and is long enough to wrap around the front as shown.. Skirt has smocking at the top and lots of gathers. Back neckline buttons and loops and side metal zipper. Unlined. *Chanel Adaptation was a licensed copy of a Chanel original. This could also have been made from fabric supplied by Chanel.
