The offset lithograph print Pop Art poster is published by The Chanel Perfume Company, printed in 1997 with the licensed authorized rights of The Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts. it features an iconic artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1985 titled Chanel No.5 , copyright 1997 Chanel and The Andy Warhol Foundation / Artists Rights Society ( ARS ) new York, courtesy Ronald Feldman Fine Arts New York. Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) was one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, artworks, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. The Chanel No.5 artwork was originally created in 1985 as part of Warhol's most sought after and iconic ADS portfolio series based on popular advertising campaigns and logos in American Culture. Chanel No.5, created by Ernest Beaux for Coco Chanel in 1921, became the most treasured name in perfume and a product synonymous with sophistication and luxury, qualities Warhol was inspired by in this series. The Chanel No.5 perfume bottle stood alone as an iconic representation of the pinnacle of Warhol's intrigue with American consumerism. Today, Chanel perfume remains a household name, just as it was during the Warhol era. In 1997, Chanel revisited the image, with the Warhol Foundation's permission, for use in an advertising campaign which this poster was created for. The Chanel No.5 image is a quintessential example of the Pop Art mastery and creative genius of Andy Warhol as an artist. The rare out of print framed Pop Art poster measures 18 W X 24 7/8 H X 7/8 D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern aqua turquoise blue matte eggshell finish wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation. It is in excellent condition. The poster print is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling. It is brand newly custom framed and has never been displayed. Mythology - Jupiter (Jupiter) | Drypoint Etching with Engraving | c.1963/65 | 22" x 30" | Edition size: 1-150 signed & numbered on Arches, I-XX EA on Japon paper, and I-C on Japon paper. ML/Argillet #125; Fields #63-3 K Jupiter is also part of Dali’s Mythology Suite. Sixteen images were made illustrating symbolism of ancient Greek myths. Furthermore, Dali mixed engraving and drypoint etching with hand coloring. To illustrate this, Dali started each piece with “hazard objectif” (meaning the meaningful manifestations of chance) Dali began each image with an abstract smudge and developed from that. Published between 1963-1965, each piece of the editions size 1-150 are signed and numbered by Dali himself.
